Bright lights shine in dark spaces. The Christmas season is the time to celebrate the True Light coming into the world.
Do you see the True Light?
He shines in the quietest moments. When the child’s eyes light up at new Christmas decorations. When a loved one bubbles with excitement over a new gift they get to give. When a man with a bell smiles at the coins left in his bucket.
He shines in the darkest moments. When a loved one is lost at what you thought was the most wonderful time of the year. When disease strikes. When wars across the world kill millions while we can do nothing to help.
Do you see Him?
It is hard when the season is so busy. An event every weekend, parties to attend and desserts to make, so many gifts to buy for so many people. We work hard to afford the Christmas we think we need.
But do you see the Light?
In the quiet moments, in the dark moments, in the busy moments, can you see Him? The One who created the light in the beginning? Who came to earth as a baby and launched a celebration that would return every year for millennia?
This season, take a moment to be quiet. To revel in the glory of a God who became a child to redeem a world lost in the dark. There’s no better moment to remember that the eternal story of redemption entered earth in a tiny town in Judea. To remember that when Jesus came, He came to tear apart the veil that lies over our hearts.
Will you take notice of His Light?
